Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai[edit]
The Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai uses the Functional Weapons of Legacy variant rule.

A strange demon-possessed blade, it only known name is quite a mouthful. The "Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai" start as a a +1 seven-branched sword and it is intelligent, however it does no cooperate with the wielder (thus gain no bonus from the weapon's intelligence). It strange design however is not what make the blade impractical, it is heavily cursed. Any creature wielding the Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai fall under the bestow curse effect with no saving throw The curse is up to the blade itself, but always choose a -6 penalty to strength (or the ability score used by the wielder for attack roll). The blade is free to change or lift it curse at it leisure, It will only use another curse if the wielder attempt to out-trick it. If the wielder get rid of the curse or is immune to the curse the blade simply slip from his grasp.
There are five rituals that are performed, they must be performed in order (the 2nd ritual must be completed before you start the 3rd, even if you achieve the 3rd level pre-requisites). Rituals cost gold (in the form of feeding the weapon raw materials) and xp, with an additional pre-requisite. Once the 1st level ritual is unlocked, the weapon displays its omen effect. You can take time out and spend 8 hours bringing the weapon to the next level once you have the pre-requisites.
The Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai is a unique magic item, on its way to becoming an artifact. While it has a price, it cannot be completely destroyed. If reduced to 0 hp, it instead falls inert in a broken condition, and unable to be used until repaired, but is not destroyed as items usually are. It is treated as an artifact against the effects of mage's disjunction.
Omen: The Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai whisper insults and taunt to the wielder in abyssal.
1st Ritual (Blood on the Blade)[edit]
Curse Reduction I: The penalty of the curse is reduced to -4, if you killed a creature within the last hour the penalty is reduced to -2. If you try any bag of rat trick the blade use greater bestow curseSpC on you for the next hour instead.
'Hedonistic Sword: The Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai is quite hedonistic, it like getting drunk, fighting, seeing naked ladies and getting in trouble with the law. Sometime when you are in a situation that you could indulge yourself in one of those things the blade will attempt to subtly influence you (assuming you don't do it willingly). Once per day the blade can use insidious suggestion on the wielder (DC 18). On the other hand whenever you do any of those things you fall under the effect of good hope with a caster level equal to your character level.
Name of the Fiend: Upon unlocking the ritual, the blade impart you with it name 'Demon King Sojionan', the mere knowledge grant you a +4 bonus on saving throw against curse effect and [evil] spells.
Pre-Requisites: BAB +3, must kill a creature alone while under the effect of the curse.
Cost: 2000 gp, 80 xp
2nd Ritual (Tongue of Fire)[edit]
Curse Reduction II: The penalty of the curse is reduced to -2, if you killed a creature within the last hour the penalty is eliminated. If you try any bag of rat trick the blade use greater bestow curseSpC on you for the next hour instead.
Stinging Insult: Once per encounter as a swift action you can speak a sting, extremely hurtful insult againsta s ingle creature that can hear you, it must make a will save or fall under the effect of crushing despair and take 1 daunt level. A successful save negate the daunt but only halves the moral penalty from crushing despair. This a mind-affecting and language-dependent effect.
Unholy Flames: While wielding the Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai you can use flame breath as a spell-like ability at will.
Pre-Requisites: BAB +6, must defeat a creature or number of creatures with a EL equal to at least your ECL-2 by yourself while being utterly drunk.
Cost: 8000 gp, 320 xp
3rd Ritual (Okay, We Are Pal Now!)[edit]
Curse Lifted: The blade no longer curse you on principle, it still can if you piss it off enough though.
Full Cooperation: The Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai 'gains' the intelligent weapon enhancement, it is chaotic evil but does not discriminate on it wielder. In fact it think lawful wielders are hilarious. This doesn't count against it's total weapon enhancements it can have or its price.
Additionally he will show some honor and will always honor any pact or agreement made with you, but so must you.
Pre-Requisites: BAB +9, must stay 24 hours under the effect of good hope from the hedonistic sword ability.
Cost: 18,000 gp, 720 xp
4th Ritual (Revenge of Oiwa)[edit]
Epic Burn: You can make any creature that fail it save against your stinging insult ability fall under the effect of internal explosive )no saving throw) in addition to it normal effect.
Greater Unholy Flames: While wielding the Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai you can use greater flame breath as a spell-like ability at will.
Silent as a Ghost: If you want, you can make no sound as if you were under the effect of silence.
Sneaky Demon: You gain invisibility at will.
Pre-Requisites: BAB +12, must have avenged a rightfully wronged ghost or revenant. Being drunk while doing it is a bonus.

5th Ritual (Seal Broken)[edit]
Cursed Blade: As a standard action you can make a normal attack with the Eternal Demon Blade of the Youkai, if it hit the target either fall under the effect of an insidious suggestion or greater bestow curseSpC (saving throws granted as normal). You may have this attack deal no damage.
Release the Demon: Once per week, by speaking "Gone, gone the form of man, Rise Demon King Sojionan!" as a full-round action you release the old demon king from the sword, exchanging places with him in the hellish realm he is imprisoned. He cannot try to use any of his curse or abilities to attempt to make you speak the words unwillingly. Since he is technically using your body, he use your statistic with the half-fiend Red Dragon Hybrid template, while the sword is nowhere to be found he posses all of the sword's ability. Instead of the sword he use a +5 Blazing Burning Roar Flaming Burst Overheat Unholy Oni Iron Kanabō, it is a major artifact and he is always proficient with it.
Demon King Sojionan is in full control of your body, he is chaotic evil but will keep in mind you are his only gateway to the physical realm anymore and always honor agreement made with the player. He can stay any amount of time on the physical world and need to speak"Gone, gone the form of demon, Return form of the man!" as a full-round action to bring back both you and the sword. If he is slain he return to the sword, you return bodily unharmed as well. However he cannot be summoned from the sword, nor can he curse or influence the player for one-hundred and one years. As a result he is very hesitant on staying any longer than he need in high risk situation.
Pre-Requisites: BAB +15, must slay a evil outsider of at least CR 19 and apply it raw essence on the blade.
Cost: 100,000 gp, 4000 xp
Prerequisites: N/A.
Cost to Create: Unique item, cannot be created.
