A well-balanced way to get some out of class abilities, open up a lot of possibilities with builds.

Dabbler is multi-classing light. It's a nice way to save yourself a 1 level class dip if you just care about a single ability for a build or PrC qualification. As a bonus, it probably opens up wand use if you grab spellcasting with it.

Interesting feat, which could open up some fun combinations, and maybe help squeeze into a few PrCs a tad earlier. Nice job.

Questions[edit]

Can you use this to grab spellcasting?

Why does someone need to select a different class for the feat if they take levels in the dabbled class, rather than just selecting a different feat?

It doesn't look like a big deal for the most part, but why the lack of prereqs (like character level 3 or whatever)? - Tarkisflux Talk 03:30, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Yes.
Either way could work. The only reason it's that way is so that people don't intentionally take this feat simply to get a free rework with multiple high-prereq feats late in the build.
Do you think there should be? I'm open to being convinced that those should be the prereqs. --Ghostwheel (talk) 10:26, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Okay.
Fair enough. The wording on preventing that is annoying.
Maybe for spellcasting, as it's such a large part of the full casting classes. It's also a much larger level 1 boost than rage or favored enemy or whatever. Not sure that a special line with a soft prereq is a good call though. - Tarkisflux Talk 17:00, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Nah, if I added a prereq like that, having it be a hard one would be fine. I'll add it in as minimum level of 3 required. --Ghostwheel (talk) 17:21, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
