| I get that the author is going for comedy, but it gets in the way of the actual mechanics, which is a bad thing. My suggestion? Put all the mechanics first, then add the flavor bits. Beyond that, 15' reach is CRAY-CRAY with no size increases, even with the low land speed. |

For reasons which should be obvious, I can't be checking these links but I have a feeling that these shouldn't be here. Fluffwise, this is a mess. It's written like the mind ramblings of someone speaking casually, even in the mechanics part. The mechanics... are ok. But then they mention some unlinked and unknown plant traits in modified plant traits. What is Tap the Earth? Do they have Speak with Plants? How often? As a spell-like? What the hell is a Whorlbound? Why are they measured in inches?! Due to these reasons, it doesn't look viable at all for play. |

| I really want to like this, but I have a couple problems. First and foremost, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what they're supposed to be able to do. You mention an Other Page, but neglect to link to it, leaving me completely in the dark as to what that's supposed to entail. Furthermore, you've given them long-reaching tendrils they can use to strangle people, and they're LA 0?!? Come on, seriously? People say my Mogeko race is ridiculous, but at least Abduction can only be used once per year! This is just... what, seriously, what?!? I can see that their base land speed is crap, but seriously, they have whips for natural weapons!!! That's kind of unfair.
I enjoy the concept — I've played enough Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow to see where this wants to go — but it still needs some polishing. |
