I've always found this article interesting and most of the effects are minor but useful, but here's my grievance with this. The massive dissonance between value and the effort required is staggering. Does it really take a DC 35 Craft check to endow a weapon with +1 damage that is rendered obsolete when it becomes magical? Why go through the trouble of making a DC 35 Craft check to make an armor you can rest in when you can just buy a restful crystal for literally the very same amount? Must you make a DC 35 Craft check to gain a +1 to swim checks, when you could probably put on a pair of flippers for twice the effect and a tenth the value? This imbalance between price and effort is even greater for the stronger effects. Someone who can make a DC 50 Craft check will be too busy making amazing stuff and isn't going to be bothering with this chump change.

The numbers really need to change, IMO.With the numbers revised this is much better.

This is a fair argument. I've made some edits. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 23:23, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Pluses[edit]

I assume the ones that say "15" as opposed to "+15" are supposed to be "+15", right? The Dire Reverend 02:13, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

I assume so also, to the point that I added the pluses in. --Havvy 05:02, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Variant Rule[edit]

This looks like it would work better as a variant rule to make the crafting skills worthwhile than as a feat. Though it does work as a feat. --Havvy 05:02, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Stacking[edit]

...Then again, if a character can make a DC 50 craft check, maybe a 50% reduction in weight isn't that outrageous. In fact, if it were my campaign, I'd probably let them do it four times and not compound the percentages if they could make the DC 80 check. If the Epic Level Handbook is anything to go by, this really isn't that spectacular for a skill check either. Also, Weightless stuff is cool. --Maninorange (talk) 07:13, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Improved Masterwork as an 3.5e Equipment article[edit]

This stuff is pretty obscure all things considered, because it's all locked up inside of a feat article. I think it's a good idea if you were to put this in the equipment space and make the feat refer to it so people can find it more easily. --Sulacu (talk) 08:14, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Feel free to add things to here if you want. --Ghostwheel (talk) 08:21, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Amunition Cost[edit]

I assume that the cost for ammunition is at least for one stack of 50, and even then I feel like it is a little over-priced as you go through ammunition quickly. --That1Dog (talk)

You are correct. Price-wise... well, I'll take a look at it. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 16:27, 15 June 2018 (MDT)

Suggested Changes[edit]

Looking at this once again, I feel that the Free Movement enhancement should probably be at the +15 tier. Since it lowers a whole bunch of penalties by 1 (and the Swim penalty by 2), it gives you what is essentially the benefits of 'Quiet', 'Camo' and 'Swimmers' all rolled into one, plus a fair bit more on top of that. --Sulacu (talk) 12:11, 11 September 2018 (MDT)
